About this tool

A favicon is the small icon that appears in the browser tab next to your website's title. While it seems simple, modern web standards require a complex set of sizes and formats to support desktop browsers, mobile home screens, and search engine results pages.

Our Favicon Generator takes the headache out of this process. You simply provide a single, high-quality image, and the tool builds the entire suite of required files, including the often-tricky multi-resolution `.ico` format and the `site.webmanifest` required for Progressive Web Apps (PWAs). All processing happens securely on your device.

How it works

  1. Upload a high-resolution logo (at least 512x512 pixels is recommended for best results).
  2. Click "Generate favicon set".
  3. Download the generated `.zip` file.
  4. Extract the contents and drop them into the root public directory of your website.
  5. Copy the provided HTML snippets from the included text file into your site's <head>.

Frequently Asked Questions

What formats does the favicon generator produce?

It generates a standard `favicon.ico` (which bundles 16x16, 32x32, and 48x48 sizes), several individual PNG files (16x16, 32x32, 48x48), an `apple-touch-icon.png` (180x180), Android Chrome icons (192x192, 512x512), and a `site.webmanifest` file.

How do I add these favicons to my website?

The tool provides a zipped folder containing all your files, along with a `how-to-use.txt` file that includes the exact HTML `<link>` tags you need to copy and paste into your website&apos;s `<head>` section.

What happens if my image isn't square?

If you upload a rectangular image, our generator will automatically center-crop it into a square before scaling it down to the various favicon sizes. This ensures your logo isn't stretched or distorted.

Is my logo uploaded to a server?

No. All favicon processing is done via HTML5 Canvas directly in your web browser. Nothing leaves your device.
